The gloomy skies and vibrant fall hues have been fleeting this year, thanks to a drought. In an attempt to maintain this brilliant, but subtle salut to fall, I've been wearing lots of grey with tangerines, pumpkins, and peaches thrown in the mix.

Zipper Bracelets
These bracelets made from zippers are the easiest DIY I've seen in a while! I love the idea of the simple one strand ones below as friendship bracelets for you and your best girlfriends. Wouldn't they be cute stocking stuffers for your roommates? Finally I have a way to use my beloved, old, worn out jeans!

Brandy Melville
How beautiful are these accessories? I'll admit that I'm not the best when it comes to perfect accessorizing. I have a difficult time spending money on, and committing to, a bunch of jewelry that I don't wear all the time. But different rings each day, little bracelets add so much more to a look. Have you heard of Brandy Melville? They have oodles of lovely jewelry for unbelievably affordable prices!

{Splurge or Save}...Foxy Lady
Ages ago, my mom had a child in her classroom who would always put hands up by his head making ears and say to you, "Foxy Wady" with a little smirk. The twitching ears with the adorable "lady" made me crack up. This adorable fox studs remind me of that little guy. I love how simple, quirky, but ladylike they are. Who needs fur when you have these studly fox on your lobes? There's even a necklace, too!

Dot, Dot, Dot...
Besides American Sportswear, aristocratic jet-setter chic, and fantastically rich colors, polka dots have made quite the mark for fall fashion. I'm jazzed! Stripes and polka dots are my favorites. Feeling unsure about how to style this seemingly childish patter? No worries!
Daytime: I enjoy pairing two prints. Just make sure that one print is larger than the other. Above, I have a purple polka dot jean paired with a larger polka dot loafer and basic white blouse. Add some basic accessories for a transition to evening.
Nighttime: wear a demure polka dot dress with a little waist. Add a sparkly sandal for all night dancing, and a shimmery clutch that doubles as a wallet during the day in your tote. Some fabby baubles make this evening look whimsical and cool.

Isn't this necklace just the sweetest? I think it's a darling, simple piece of jewelry you could dress up or down.
This makes me wonder... Do you like hugs or kisses more? Here's my take on the kiss/hug face-off.

{Gift Guide}...For Your Best Friend, MOM
If you're lucky like me, you have a mom who is Wonderwoman. My mom always knows when I have something on my mind, and readily knows how to fix it. She makes the best coffee & best treats. Try as I might, I will never achieve the same yummy taste of her cookies. Mom is smart as whip, musical, a fashionista and classic best pal. Without her, my life would be chaos. Here are some gift ideas for your marvelous mums. Make her feel special, loved and totally fantastic! Tell her how much she means to you! Thanks, Mom, for all you do! I love you!

Experiment with Vince Camuto
All the jewelry from Vince Camuto is sleek, elegant and unique. What's great is the diversity of al the pieces. But they still look great together no matter what. Try a tortoise shell cuff with a neon yellow color block ring. How about an orange cuff, a purple cuff and them natural earrings? So great and versatile!
{Splurge or Save}...Studded Lobes
I posted these babies on Pinterest a few days ago and they were a hit! Wowza, they spread like wildfire! Maybe it's because studded earrings are so awesome! Not only are they edgy, they're also unique. I love that both of these take a twist of the normally hard core studded look to make them refined and preppy, or brightly funky and kind of art-deco-esque! Both would be great additions to any wardrobe.

Color Me Happy
As you may know, this past weekend I did a little shopping with Abby and Alex, who was visiting. I was overjoyed by how many bright, beautiful colors filled the stores. I just had to pick up these little flowers (similar style here) for your hair. I'm in-between hair cuts right now, so as my bangs and loose ends grow out, they are the perfect glorified bobby pins. I also found these amazing necklaces at Gap. They have even more in some great colors (I may have to get them) but I stuck with the pinky peach & orange colors I've been loving recently. Of course, all my accessories were so bright I needed some sunglasses! To top it off, I picked up a great water color stripe tee with rivet detailing on the pocket. I adore this aqua because it looks good on everybody! Seriously. Find a person who doesn't look good in an ocean cerulean. I've officially begun the spring-summer wardrobe overhaul.

{Splurge or Save}...Bow Rings
Did you ever try the trick of tying a string around your finger so that you don't forget something important? I never actually did, because I didn't want my finger to turn purple (like when you have a bandage too tight!) These bow rings, however, would be great substitutes! The shiny enamel gives them a very arcade prize quality, so they're not as glitzy & delicate as many rings. Fun, bright and quirky, what a great way to accessorize. Having a little bow on my finger would definitely remind me to be as silly and happy as a little girl is. What would a bow around your finger remind you to do?
Now...which is the splurge and which is the save? The top is Marc by Marc Jacobs and the bottom is by Ana Accessories Inc. I think you're answer is right there! I love the color blocking in the Marc Jacobs ring, but I'd be happy shelling out only 12 George Washingtons for the bold look of solid papaya and gold.

Peacock Print & Pigment
Teals, emeralds, plums and periwinkles. I love them all! Peacock feathers were once signs of wealth and would show up in home decode, dress and the like. Now, they're just down right cool. Although I've never been a huge fan of wearing actual feathery earrings, I think the metal alternative by Lucky Brand are totally rad. Sometimes, there's this idea that peacock "theme" can be a little ultra-quirky. It's okay to have a theme to your outfit or event. Just make sure it's not too literal.
Try wearing a dress or bracelet that features the same hues of peacock feathers. With a simple shift dress, wear some funky feather tights. Grab a basic, but interesting clutch with the peacock feather print or wear a feather in your hair, but keep the rest of your outfit simplistic so that your accessory can really make a statement. You don't want to look like Big Bird.
Even centering a dinner or party around the peacock can feel fun, aristocratic and easy. You're entire table doesn't have to match. In fact, I suggest it should never match. Your dish ware could be teal, while your stemware or water glasses be purple. Flower arrangements or candles can feature shades of greens with some pops of blue and plum. Heck, add a peacock feather or two in the bouquet!
So if you're getting inspired by something, weather it be art or animals, go with it!

Off the Cuff
Recently, I've been so attracted to having one statement item. The millions of tiny beaded & woven bracelets for each arm is now seeming so excessive for the return. They don't really make a statement, they just kind of clutter your arm & make your outfit look a little distracted. I'm all for the effortless look, but I prefer it to still be really clean & chic. As a solution, try wearing one large cuff. If you're really daring, try out the double cuff look, wearing matching cuff on each wrist. The cuffs above are so amazing. They're bold & elegance simultaneously, which can be so difficult to achieve. The double cuff look can be equally interesting. It simply completes a look. If you're like me, a chronic 3/4 length girl (or one who always shoves her long sleeves to mid forearm), these really polish you off!

Not Just for Babies...Bibs
And we thought that bibs were for babies. Not anymore. This trend is becoming more and more popular. What do you like best? The full on bib like #7? Or the abstract like #2? Is the intermediate plate like style more your thing, as seen in #5 and 6? Would you wear this trend? If so, with what would you wear it?

Ripe Shades of Spring
Spring will be bringing lovely flowers & fruits for us to revel in. Furthermore, pretty, pretty shades of pink, orange & peach will bloom in the stores and our wardrobes! I can't wait to dress myself head to toe in the flowery fresh items! How fun to feel like a budding flower as the weather warms!

Above the Bar
This black bar necklace is so chic & cool. The simplicity of black with gold would match practically anything. Dress it up with a little black dress & some great heels, or make it casual with a simple tee & jeans. Dolce Vita certainly hit the mark with this.
