{Splurge or Save}...Striped Cashmere Sweater

Right about now is when I start having dream vacations. You know the ones I'm talking about. You fall asleep and you swear you're on a boat. You feel the sway, the rock, the steady pulse of waves. The breeze from your open window is suddenly a salty sea mist. Well. Even if you're not headed to the beach anytime soon, keep feeling those nautical delights in a classic blue and cream striped cashmere sweater. They are definitely sea worthy this season!

If you feel like splurging, this sweater by The Row is basic and beautiful. Not to mention luxurious. If you're on a bit of a tighter budget, look no further. J.Crew has a fantastically affordable alternative. This sweater has more stripes that are fantastically aligned! (my pet peeve is mis aligned pattern on clothes.) These sweaters are so versatile! They could be worn for a full out sailor style, or paired with other funky items for an off beat outfit!

I'd pair it with these

Color Me Happy

As you may know, this past weekend I did a little shopping with Abby and Alex, who was visiting. I was overjoyed by how many bright, beautiful colors filled the stores. I just had to pick up these little flowers (similar style here) for your hair. I'm in-between hair cuts right now, so as my bangs and loose ends grow out, they are the perfect glorified bobby pins. I also found these amazing necklaces at Gap. They have even more in some great colors (I may have to get them) but I stuck with the pinky peach & orange colors I've been loving recently. Of course, all my accessories were so bright I needed some sunglasses! To top it off, I picked up a great water color stripe tee with rivet detailing on the pocket. I adore this aqua because it looks good on everybody! Seriously. Find a person who doesn't look good in an ocean cerulean. I've officially begun the spring-summer wardrobe overhaul.

{On the Same Wavelength}... Stripes

Kate Spade New York & Equipment must have had the same stroke of genius when they created this bag & this blouse. The spearmint color gives these items so much fresh vibrancy. They both are brilliantly paired with a neutral like black or deep midnight navy to keep it sophisticated & prevent it from getting too overwhelmingly juvenile. I know that pastel citrus is the trend for Spring 2012, and I couldn't be a bigger fan. But for days that I'm feeling a little different, these would be great alternatives while still being springy.
1. Kate Spade Satchel
2. Equipment Blouse
