We haven't even had a real dumping of snow yet this winter & I'm already craving spring & summer. This summer, I'm traveling to the Sunshine State with my family. I couldn't be more excited. I feel as though I'm five again getting antsy as we count down the days on the calendar. That being said, I've already started compiling a list of spring & summer clothes, accessories, etc for my trip! Tibi has some of the most gorgeous dresses in striking colors of teal & lemon yellow as well as bold floral patterns. The variety is about as abundant as all the flowers in Florida. Some for dressing up to see a show, some for a casual stroll with friends while eating an orange. Here are my favorite six that I'd like to pack for vacation.

The Long & The Short of It

Superman or Posh?
I have a wool knit caplet from Gap that I adore. I received it from my parents for Christmas last year. It is warm, a little chunky & smells like wool! Is that weird? I love how versatile it is. Since it's dark grey knit/ribbed & has a semi-industrial zipper to allow a cool little collar, it can be super casual with leggings & boots or a bit dressier with my navy skinnies & heels. I'm really tempted to wish list this camel one from J.Crew.
Whenever I wear it though, people ask what it is. Then I have to say, "It's a caplet." "A caplet? Like, a cape? Like Superman?" No! Not like Superman! But then I second guess myself. Is it weird wearing a cape? I feel so very European when I wear it. Effortlessly chic as if I should casually strolling down a cobblestone path in Wales as the grey sky mists. Would Posh Spice wear it?
The cons: A cape makes you sound like you're four playing superheroes. It's also incredibly difficult to wear with a jacket, as it bunches up around the neck & chest (because there are no real sleeves), making you appear to have an abnormally thick chest.
The pros: So comfortable, so chic, so warm, so very English. I feel invincible in the sense that if I had a sip of tea while wearing it, I might actually be British royalty (or David Beckham's arm candy.)
Your thoughts would be so helpful on the subject! Would you wear a cape?
So Surreal
I stumbled across these surreal paintings by Vladimir Kush the other day here. I'm no art historian, so I can't brag about my knowledge of all the different surrealist artists. I admit, I only have been acquainted with good old DalĂ. However, these are so beautiful! I would love to have some prints of these. I posted my absolute favorites, but there are even more on Designcouch. The paintings are creative, colorful & very imaginative. Sometimes, I think surreal paintings have creepy/scary vibe. These are so light & magical!

Parenthood
Parenthood is already on its third season on NBC, proving that I'm a little behind the times. I've been wanting to watch it, but I can't seem to find the time. I've always very much liked Lauren Graham. She was absolutely endearing in Gilmore Girls. Over break, I discovered that Parenthood is on Netflix! It's been a never-ending marathon of it ever since! I'm already completely engrossed in the lives of the Braverman family. The acting is great (Lauren Graham & Peter Krause); the parents are weird, protective & sometimes completely unprepared. The kids (Max Burkholder & Savannah Paige Rae) are utterly adorable. This may be one of my new favorite shows.
Happy Feet
I do quite a bit of walking in the city, so I'm concerned with both comfort & style when it comes to shoes. Oh, did I mention that I'm also cheap, so the price needs to right. By now, it's probably pretty apparent that I have a love fest going on with Gap.
Long story short, they are ideal for a chic city girl on the go.
