Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt is one of the most highly acclaimed and recognizable artists from Vienna. He was an Austrian Symbolist painter, but also worked with murals and sketches. His primary subject is the female body and sometimes uses pregnant women, which is quite uncommon. I find these portraits to be just stunning. My mother has a beautiful coffee mug that features one his gorgeous paintings, Judith and the Head of Holofernes (commonly referred to as Judith I). I would love to have a print of Der Kuss as well as the one above, Bildnes der Adele Bloch Bauer I

For a fun little extra, KLIMT YOURSELF here. I did!

  1. These paintings are so beautiful, I love his play with colors and shapes. And Klimt Yourself?! I'm down.
